7. Keep away - Transition
Area – Suitable size area to compliment the ability of the group. 8 players in teams of two. On ball is used. The coach has all the balls.
1. The white team are defenders. The others attempt to keep the ball away from the white players.
2. When a player on the outside gives a ball away they immediately enter as a defender and are joined by their team mate.
3. The white team take their places on the outside.
4. If a ball is kicked out of the playing area the coach quickly plays in a ball to restart the exercise.
If more players, have teams of three.
You are looking for the reaction of the players when they win or lose the ball. This part of the development is key.
